Luxembourg so big oh

Rain rain go away,
Winds, please come blow the clouds away,
I sit and stare and hope and pray,
My friend the sun could come and stay.

Bah! I do not have a poetic bone in my body.

Weather sucks. Heater's already on 24/7 cos it's freaking freezing cold. And it's not even October yet.  HOW AM I GOING TO SURVIVE THE WINTER?

Nyways, back to happier times. The first Sunday Super Mi and Super Kesh were here (*sob* I still miss you '___' ), Super Dr. D (an original Luxembourger) and Mdm M offered to take us around to see the (normally) unseen Luxembourg. The Luxembourg I know has a radius of about 20km, and if left to me, Mi'd have probably ended up thinking that the entire Luxembourg is the size of Damai or Bangsar.

I'll let the pictures do the talking from here onwards. But I'll just explain here that our tour took more than 6 hours and was only a portion (something like 1/6) of the entire Luxembourg. So, yeah. Luxembourg isn't as small as I imagined.

Kesh posing while we were deciding seating arrangements.

Mi calls them happy cows. Or happy beef. Happy something.

Pretty, right?

Mi and our Super tour guide.

Wonder what that lady behind's looking at.

Makan time was at this very original Luxembourgish restaurant hidden far inside some faraway woods
(at least it felt like that).

Their version of amuse bouche.

Shared appetizer. I find out here that there's a whole lotta smoked meat in Luxembourgish 'cuisine'.

Super Hubs with his steak. So nice and tender! He insists it's horsemeat. I choose not to believe my husband eats horse. (It's like how he chooses not to believe that I enjoy chicken feet).

Great minds think alike. Mi and I ordered the same thing. Roasted neck of pork with beans. I didn't enjoy it all that much. Meat too dry. I offloaded a piece to Boo and Mi offloaded a piece of hers to Mr. A2.

Kesh rather enjoyed her carbonara.

This was Mr. A1's dish. Wish I ordered it instead.

Dr. D's steak. So tender! I wish I ordered that as well!

Mdm M's cold beef salad. Not my kinda dish.

Then we were off to a castle.

Clarification: Boo's not so macho orange scarf actually belongs to Mdm. M.

My hair always gets into people's faces.
Look at poor Kesh trying to get rid of it.

Then we arrived in an old abbey.

Kesh, Boo and I making wishes at the wishing well.
We realised AFTER that we were supposed to throw the coins in with our backs towards the well and over our left shoulder.
I ran back to do it properly again.

Church. Very pretty.

Oh, and I almost forgot the bleeping orchestra sheeps.

This isn't a very educational post on where I was and addresses of where we ate and all cos to be honest, I really haven't a clue. I slept in the car most of the way and woke up bleary eyed every time we stopped at a destination. *bashful*

I stop here la. Posting these pictures are making me nostalgic about our good times and weather again. Talk soon!

Turning 31

Okie. I really need to climb out of my sad hole of self pity and get moving again. And paopei's been nagging me to blog about Mi's trip. So, here's a start.

3 weeks ago, I celebrated turning 31. The thing is, ten years ago, I never would've imagined life to be the way it is now. Heck, even a mere five years ago, if you'd ask me where I see myself at 31, the answer would have been so vastly different from what I find myself going through right now.

See, at that time, I imagined myself to spend most of my life as a corporate slave. I was quite proud and happy to be working my way up the ladder, and thinking of myself as this ass-kicking career woman type. I could have gone on for quite a bit, but a wanderlust took hold of me, and transported me into this life I never would've imagined myself living in a million years.

Married. Unemployed. Going back to school. Living in Europe. New friends. Far away from family and loved ones... Strange how things turn out, huh?

But most importantly, no matter how much my life and circumstances have changed, I'm glad that the most crucial thing to my well-being stays the same: to love and be loved, always.

So, without further ado and inane ramblings of shouldas, wouldas and couldas, here's some photos of my very super surprise birthday party at Mahi Restaurant that Super Boo planned all by himself, surrounding me with all the love that I love.

Arriving to what was supposed to be a quiet dinner with mummy and Kesh.

I am so captivating like that. ;p

My very lovely dinner dates who covered up the surprise very well.

Makan time!

The very terrific, specially designed mushroom menu,
cos mushrooms are in season now and because I love mushrooms madly.
I heart my Super Boo Chef.

Present time!

And more presents!

Cake time. And Super Boo could finally join us after his service.

THE most amazing cake EVER. Super Boo Chef made 3.
I want one now!

Happy oh!

Missing already

Mi and Kesh are on their way back to KK right now and I'm mighty grumpy. The house feels empty, Luxembourg feels cold, and I feel lonely. Slumped right now on my sofa and cannot muster the energy or will to get anything done at all. Sigh. Suffering torturous withdrawal symptoms after the super high from the past three weeks.

I want my mummy and sister back!!!

Berlin, here we come

We got back from Paris on Friday, but spent the whole weekend lazing around, eating copious amounts of restaurant and home-cooked food, and most importantly, doing laundry.

Berlin awaits us today, and I thought I'd just show off how chic-i-fied my chicks are now! :p

Off to Paris!

We had an activity-filled day today and I've got soooo much to share!

Last night was my surprise Birthday dinner party *thank you Super Boo!* and today the very Super Dr. D and Mdm M brought us around for a Luxembourg tour. These two events deserve a proper post, but I'm afraid I need to get to bed soon cos Paris awaits us tmrw :p

Our train leaves at 8am and we should be there by 10am. Pray for us and hope we have a good time cos I'm a bit nervous about being tour guide to a city I've only been in for 4 days. I've done all the research and stuff, so, we'll see.

In the meantime, also wanna say thanks to Starr, Yi and Aunty Terri for your sweet bday wishes. :) Hugsssssssssssssssss and lotsa love!!!!!!!!! :)

And to Daddy and Paopei, here are some teaser pics of today. Just to whet your appetite. We still miss you tonsssss! And tell Bryan and Don to show some love here also laaaa, we miss them too :)

Will do a proper post with the details and all when we get back from Paris, k?

We'll be back on Friday. Till then, XOXOXOXO!

Super Birthday

Celebrating my birthday today with Super Hubs and Super Mi and Super Kesh in Luxembourg is making me feel like the luckiest girl in the world. But while we're dashing off to the market and coffee and lunch and tea and dinner and all the fun things, I am making sure to do up a quick post to show Daddy, Paopei, Don and Bryan are still missed (and to show them what they're missing out on) :p

Not much time to explain in detail. So, here are pics of today. Hope you enjoy em almost as much as we did taking em :)

Off to dinner now! Ta!
